The Lord Elgin has been anchoring Elgin Street for decades, and it carries that history in the best way — grand without being stiff, polished without feeling cold. It’s the kind of hotel where the staff actually remember your name, and where a wedding feels like it belongs in the building rather than just passing through it. Full package couples get a complimentary night’s stay, and reduced rates are available for guests booking rooms on-site.
The Banquet Hall is the main wedding space, but the newly renovated Trillium Room deserves a closer look. We photographed one of the very first weddings held in that room, and the interior stopped us in our tracks — elegant finishes, beautiful light, and views of Confederation Park just outside the window. It holds up to 40 guests, which makes it genuinely suited to celebrations where every person in the room is someone who matters.
Confederation Park sits right across the street, and it’s one of those portrait spots that never gets old — open green space, mature trees, and a view that grounds you in the city without fighting it. Pair that with the texture and character of the surrounding neighbourhood, and you have more to work with than most downtown venues can offer. Classic building, classic Ottawa — the photos tend to match.
Planning a wedding at the Lord Elgin? We’d love to hear what you’re envisioning — the space, the scale, and how you want the day to feel.
